CARLA ROBKER

Carla Engel Cain (Moore) Robker, passed away August 14, 2025, of Parkinson's disease complications at Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice House in Manhattan, Kan. She was born on August 19, 1946, in Topeka, the oldest daughter of Richard and Dorothy (Engel) Cain. She attended Catholic schools and graduated from Hayden High School in Topeka. She also attended Washburn University. Carla married Gerald Robker on June 12, 1981, in Easton, Kan. They had no children. She was the unconditional love of his life. He survives of the home. She has three surviving children of a previous marriage: Michelle (Rick) Noble of Lutz, Fla., Bruce (Dena) Moore of Montgomery, Texas, and Meganne Welchhans of Olathe, Kan. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Thomas. Carla worked as an administrative assistant/accountant in the financial services and real estate industries. She also worked on Democratic political campaigns in the 1970s; the most successful being the two terms of Congresswoman Martha Keys, along with being part of her congressional staff. She was a past chair of Riley County Health Board. Also, a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of the Junior League of the Flint Hills, where she held various offices in both. Most of all Carla was a devoted wife to Gerald, a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She enjoyed square dancing (where she met Gerald), volunteering, playing the piano, and bridge, until Parkinson's disease limited her ability. The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday August 20, 2025, at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday August 21, 2025, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4801 Anderson in Manhattan. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday August 21, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Easton. Memorial contributions in memory of Carla are suggested to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Hayden High School, or a
