DWIGHT RICHARDSON Obituary

DWIGHT RAY RICHARDSON Dwight Ray Richardson (Filthy) was born November 28, 1954, in Whiteville, N.C., and went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2024. He was the eldest of two boys born to Carlton Ray (Pop) and Vina Mae Richardson. Dwight was raised in Vidalia, Ga., by his grandparents Mrs. Beatrice (Momma B) and Mr. Jonathan Nails Sr. He was raised in the same household with his uncles and aunts but as brothers and sisters while his father was serving in the United States Army. He was baptized in First African Baptist Church of Vidalia and was educated in the Vidalia school system and graduated from Dickerson High School. After graduating he joined the Army. Honorably discharged after several enjoyable years he moved to Leavenworth, Kan., to be with his father. Dwight was good at all things he endeavored. His expertise was electrician in the military, truck driver, carpenter, maintenance man and performed a multitude of jobs while serving in the engineering department at the Leavenworth VA Medical Center. He retired with 27 years of government service. Dwight loved cooking (especially on the "Pink Pig" grill), gardening (truly he had a green thumb). His hobbies included collecting alcoholic beverages that are rarely found in the stores, marbles of all sorts (it didn't matter what it looked like...and don't touch them), clowns (O my God!) and pictures of clowns, fishing (his catch would be given to his friends and family) and counting (money). Although he never married, he was preceded in death by Deborah Alice Henry (whom he loved dearly), brothers, Anthony (Tony) Richardson, James (Jim) Clark and two sisters, Alice Jane Smith and Mabel Laverne Littrice. He leaves to mourn his father Carlton Ray (Pop) Richardson, two sisters, Tonya Richardson and Marsha Thomas (raised as sister), three brothers, Joseph (Joe) Clark, John Clark and Edward Rogers (raised as a brother), four children of Deborah Henry: Marcus Henry (Chris), Kansas City, Kan., Frankie Henry, Leavenworth, James (Snoop) Henry, Leavenworth, Ruth (Ruthie) Henry, Leavenworth and a host of relatives and friends and BOSCO (A.K.A. Doggie Styles or MR. Styles). They ALL loved Dwight and he loved them all.. but GOD loved him the best! Condolences may be left on Dwight's online guestbook at www.davisfuneralchapelinc.com.
