JOANN JASTER 11/27/1936 - 10/26/2025 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of JoAnn Jaster on October 26, 2025, at Piper Memory Care at the age of 88. We find comfort in knowing she is with her Heavenly Father. JoAnn was born in Leavenworth to Scott and Jane Huffman on November 27, 1936. Preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Bob and Dickie Huffman. She is survived by Sherry Jaster-Brown, daughter, of Leavenworth; Robin Hungerbeeler, daughter, (Lee), Tonganoxie; Aaron Krieger, grandson, (Sarah), Leavenworth; Nicole Hungerbeeler, granddaughter, Texas; Josh Hungerbeeler, grandson, New York; Ronnie Huffman (Kim), brother, Leavenworth; several nieces and nephews. JoAnn spent nearly two decades as the secretary for Leavenworth County Extension Service. She particularly loved the county fair and seeing all of the kids and accomplishments. After retirement she immediately volunteered at St. John Hospital for the surgical waiting room. Perhaps her most exciting achievement was working beside dad as they were growing their property business. JoAnn managed up to 40 homes at a time while raising her two daughters. Favorite hobbies included loading their yard with as many beautiful plants and flowers as possible! Taking in the strays dad inevitably brought home with love. Feeding raccoons peanut butter sandwiches even though we were all sure one day they would open the door and get in the house! JoAnn developed a love of cruises. She would travel when she could with several great girlfriends. Finally, her annual trips to Las Vegas! Who knew! Slot machines, fun dining and always a great show. Services will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel. Visitation is Monday, November 3 from 4 - 6 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, November 4 at 11 a.m. Private family burial at Mt Calvary following. Although flowers are loved and appreciated, memorial contributions can be made to HOPE PET RESCUE or St Jude's.
