MARY JO LADURON On Sunday, June 30, 2024, the Leavenworth community lost a beautiful and proud member. Mary Jo LaDuron passed away peacefully at the age of 87 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Mary Jo was born on August 24, 1936, to Joseph Richard Gault and Myrtle Frances Gault in Plains County, Kansas. She grew up one of six sisters in the family's dry-cleaning business in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She met and married Louis LaDuron Sr. on July 1, 1956, in Albuquerque, New Mexico and they had four children together; Louis Duane LaDuron Jr., Leonard Douglas LaDuron, Linette Dee Wilson, and Lucus David LaDuron; seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mary Jo was a serviceman's wife while Louis (Lou) was in the service and then his partner in business when he got out of the service, owning Gators Video and keeping the books for The Insurance Shoppe. She was an Eastern Star with the Masonic Lodge and a loved member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. She loved the Leavenworth community and was always there for the people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Myrtle Gault; four sisters, Marcella Chamberlin, Myrle Dadig, Maxine Templeton, and Mryna Kohs. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel at Charter Funerals, 16731 Springdale Rd., Leavenworth, Kansas. The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at the same location. Burial will follow the service at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
