Mitchell Thompson Obituary
He was born on Dec. 22, 1953 in Lebanon. He was the son of Mary George Thompson and the late Frank Thompson Sr. Thompson was a U.S. postal carrier, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was a longtime volunteer and Sunday school teacher. He was an avid UK fan and a sports enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by: a brother, Stuart Thompson; and a sister-in-law, Harriet Thompson.
Survivors other than his wife and mother include: two children, Slade and Grace Thompson; three siblings, Frank (Aletia) Thompson Jr., Tim (Barbara) Thompson, and AnnCoury Mulloy; a sister-in-law, Emma Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends expressions of appreciation to his church family, his relatives, co-workers, and patrons of his mail route.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan 11 at Calvary Baptist Church, 150 E. High Street, Lexington, with burial in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Dr. Robert Baker officiated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church or St. Augustine School, 236 S. Spalding Ave., Lebanon, KY 40033.
Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Lexington, was in charge of arrangements.

The Lebanon friends of Mitchell thought so much of him and his Family! Gone too soon from this Earth.... May his family find comfort in his memories. I shall always remember he and Stuart being such GREAT UK Fans. Now together in heaven:)

Sorry to hear of Mitchell's passing. We went to St.A together. He was a fellow letter carrier at the Bluegrass station the 3 years that I worked in Lexington. He was a very kind man. My condolences.

Mary,Grace and Slade, my heart goes out to you guys at this time .i knew mitchell from church .he was a good guy and sports guy.he is now in a better place . i will miss seeing him around the church and volunteer with him on thursday nites at the church.my prays go to all 3 of you .R.I.P.
