Addie Stephens Obituary

Mrs. Addie T. Stephens passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 14, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones. Affectionately known as "Bell," she was a kindhearted and energetic woman whose generous spirit touched many lives. She loved to help others as well as sing and play the piano.

Born in Phenix City, Alabama, to the late Willie and Lucy Bell Thomas, Addie graduated from South Girard High School in 1967 and pursued a fulfilling career in Human Resources as a Payroll Analyst at Mead Coated Board. After 37 years of service with Mead she retired early. Later, returning to the workforce at Muscogee County School District in the Accounting department, retiring and leaving a legacy of dedication and compassion in every role she held.

A devoted member of the Midland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Addie found joy in helping others learn about the Bible and Jehovah God's love. She was preceded in death by her sons Carlton and Reuben Butler, granddaughter Constance Nall Thornton, and sister Catherine T. Evans.

She leaves behind cherished memories with her husband of 24 years, Mr. Harold R. Stephens; daughters Erica (Sam) Willis and Kimberly Butler; grandchildren Branden Nall, Kristopher Kimbrough, and Kristian Kimbrough; great-grandson Justin Nall; siblings Maggie (Roosevelt) Freeman and Dennis (Alicia) Lyles; bonus grandchildren, Alecia and Kanavisa Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
