Colorado Springs , Colorado - Anne Parker Tolbert was born in Fort Benning, Georgia on June 11, 1955 and, she passed away in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 9, 2021.
Anne spent a portion of her early childhood in Honolulu, Hawaii and, spent the majority of her childhood in Phenix City, Alabama where she graduated from Central High School. While at Central, she met her husband of 46 years, Jim Tolbert, who attended nearby Columbus High School.
Anne and Jim had two children, Callie and J.R.. Callie now lives in Colorado Springs with her husband Mark Murphy. J.R. lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife, Mary Rafferty, and two children Sullivan and Jackson.
Anne will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother; a working mom who taught her children the importance of hard work and commitment to family; a lover of American history, live music, and Auburn sports.
She was most recently a member of First Baptist Church of Marietta, Georgia but has been a lifelong member of the church growing up as an active member of Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City. She loved teaching Sunday School and loved following the achievements and careers of the children she taught throughout the years.
Anne was preceded in death by her mother and father Sara Parker and Jessie R. Parker, Jr.; her brother Sonny Parker; her brother-in-law George Cullen; parents-in-law Ed and Hazel Tolbert; and her beloved golden retriever Gus.
She is also survived by her sister Patti Cullen; brother-in-law Mike Tolbert and wife Annette; nephew Sean Parker and wife Molly; and niece Shea Parker Hall and husband Peter.
Family and friends will hold a memorial on Thursday, August 5th at First Baptist Church Ma rietta at 11:00 AM.
