Phenix City, AL- Mrs. Annie W. Barnes Nickerson, 84, of 101-16th Avenue South, Apt. 67A, Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Midtown Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. J.C. Fryer, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Community Cemetery. Visitation is today from 9 - 12:30 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mrs. Nickerson was born April 19, 1929 in Russell County, AL to the late Annie Will Johnson and the late Jake Barnes. She was a member of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church and retired from the Phenix City School System.
Survivors include five sons, Willie Barnes of Smiths Station, AL; Nathaniel (Catherine) Jackson of Philadelphia; Eddie B. (Mary) Nickerson, Jr. of Columbus, GA; Douglas (Linda) Nickerson of Ladonia, AL and Lorenza (Vera) Nickerson of Valley, AL; one daughter, Ruby Taylor of Columbus, GA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
