Auguste Barbaree Obituary

Auguste W. Schaefer Larwig Barbaree January 29, 1939- March 4, 2006 PHENIX CITY, AL— Auguste W. Schaefer Larwig Barbaree, 67, of Phenix City, died Saturday March 4, 2006 at her home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. EST Tuesday at Vance Memorial Chapel with Brother Bobby Watford and Rev. Tommy L. Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Crawford Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers are Scott Taylor, Nicolas Larwig, Shane Barbaree, Lance Taylor, Kyle Dobbs, Andy Murphy , Jamie Adams and Bradley Adams. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. EST at the funeral home. Mrs. Barbaree was born January 29, 1939 in Langendiebach, Germany and was the daughter of the late Heinrich Johann Schaefer and Wilhelmine Mai Schaefer. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lutheran Church in Germany. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Birgit Larwig, one sister, Magrette Montgomery, two brothers, Horst Schaefer, and Heinrich Schaefer. Mrs. Barbaree is survived by her husband, Louie P. Barbaree of Phenix City; three sons, Rolf Larwig, and wife Tammy of Spring Hill, TN, Volker Larwig of Phenix City, and Achim Larwig, and wife Chasity of Smiths Station; three stepdaughters, Jackie Adams, and husband Skeet of Cottonton, AL, Carla Abney, and husband Louie of Phenix City, and Leah Sanchez, and husband John of Stockbridge, GA; seven grandchildren, Amy Larwig, Nicolas Larwig, Aleksandar Larwig, Mattias Larwig, Peavy Larwig, Nathaniel Larwig, and Conner Larwig; six step-grand-children, Brad Adams (Katy), Jamie Adams (Tiffany), Heather Dunbar (Jeremy), Kyle Dobbs, Katelyn Murphy, and Andy Murphy, two great grandchildren; Hunter Adams and Trista Dunbar; sisters, Christa Broell, Irine Viele, Hilde Vengen, Ria Svaling; brothers, Hans Schaefer and Lesle Schaefer. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Barbaree to Woodland Baptist Church or Wiregrass Hospice.
