Ben Jenkins Obituary

Ben Jenkins June 15, 1907- February 28, 2007 COLUMBUS, GA— Ben Jenkins, 99, of 2836 Pecan Street, Columbus, GA. died February 28, 2007 at Fountain City Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Pine Hill Baptist Church with interment in Community Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2836 Pecan St. in Columbus, GA., according to Sumbry Mortuary. Mr. Jenkins was born June 15, 1907 in Russell County, AL., son of the late Margaret and Elias Jenkins. He was a construction worker, handyman, woodman, a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church and had lived in the community for 75 years. He is survived by three sons, James C. Jenkins, Gasden, AL., Willie B. and Bennie Jenkins, both of Evanston, IL.; twenty four grandchildren; 30 + great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

Mr Ben was like a grandfather to me. He and Ms. Ruth are together again and they are both in a better place now. God be with Peggy- her children and grandchildren, and the rest of the family. God is with you now and always.
