Atlanta, GA- Bertie Mae Spears, 97, of Atlanta, GA, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at her home in Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm EST on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Vance Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Spears was born on January 30, 1915 in Andalusia, AL, the daughter of the late William Thomas Hallford and Viola Worley Hallford. She is preceded in death by her husband Archie Spears, her son Gleen Spears and daughter Gail Spears McMahan.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Virginia Hallford Norwood and Bessie Hallford Reynolds; a brother, Junior Hallford; and 3 grandchildren, Jacob Booth Spears, Meredith Gail Spears and Angela Spears Grantham; son-in-law, James McMahan; daughter-in-law, Jan Spears; care-giver, Edwina Ellison.
