Phenix CIty,, Alabama - Bobby James Baldwin, Sr., 91, of Phenix City, AL died at his home on Friday, July 05, 2024.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Donald Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Baldwin was born April 8, 1933, in Houston County, AL son of the late James Preston Baldwin and Callie Jones Baldwin. He was a proud Korean War Veteran. After the war, he joined Southern Phenix Textiles retiring after 30 years of service as a supervisor of multiple departments including the carding and spinning departments. Mr. Baldwin was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, and was known as the family jokester. He also loved watching NASCAR and Auburn University football (War Eagle), and grilling. He was so loved and admired that his grandson and all of his great-grandsons share his middle name James.
Mr. Baldwin was preceded in death by his parents, James and Callie Baldwin; his wife of 47 years, Mae Delores Helms Baldwin and his beloved daughter, Barbara Ann Baldwin Rigby.
Survivors include his son, Bobby J. Baldwin, Jr. (Susan), Spanaway, Washington; five grandchildren, Allyson Austin Carter (Johnathan), Ashleigh Austin Tidwell (Patrick), Montgomery, Alabama, Jake Rigby, Blake Rigby, Smiths Station, Alabama, and Philip J. Baldwin (Shawnda) Puyallup, Washington; four great-grandchildren, Meghan Tidwell, Isaiah J. Carter, Haiden J. Baldwin, and Carter J. Baldwin; numerous other family members and friends.
