Columbus, GA- Bobby Gene Chesser, 73, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services with military honors will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Keith Sanders officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Chesser was born July 16, 1938 in Covington County, AL son of the late Wesley L. and Necel M. Rachels Chesser. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was the owner of Clegg's Discount Fireworks.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Patsy Smith Chesser and Debra Carol Phillips Chesser, and granddaughter, Ashley Cheney.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa E. Chesser Sanders (Keith) of Columbus, GA, two grandsons, Kyle McGill of Columbus, GA and Koleman Kellerman of Smith Station, AL, step-daughter, Kimberly Maddox McGill of Phenix City, AL, sister, Betty Joyce Waldrep (Fred) of Salem, AL, brother, Woodson Wesley Chesser, Sr. of Columbus, GA, and nieces and nephews, Jan Chesser Horne (John) of Columbus, GA, Shannon Waldrep of Smith Station, AL, Woodson Wesley Chesser, Jr. of Phenix City, AL, and Anthony Dennis Chesser (Svetlana) of Prattville, AL.
