Bryna Joy Kravtin

Bryna Joy Kravtin April 12, 1954 - January 2, 2010 COLUMBUS, GA— Bryna Joy Kravtin passed away at her residence surrounded by loving family and friends on January 2, 2010 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Striffler Ð Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel followed by the burial in Riverdale Cemetery. The services will be conducted by Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin. Bryna was born in Columbus, GA on April 12, 1954 to Joan Kravtin and the late Samuel Kravtin. She graduated from Hardaway High School in 1972 and later attended business school in Macon, GA. Upon her return to Columbus she worked with her father, uncle, and later her brother at Kravtin's Novelty Shop for over 15 years. Following the store's closing, she owned and operated Molly Maid until her illness forced her to retire. Bryna was preceded in death by grandparents, Phillip and Rachel Kravtin; father, Samuel Kravtin; uncle, Maurice Kravtin; aunt, Florence Kravtin all of Columbus, GA; and beloved cousin, Dennis Silverstein of Los Angeles, CA. She leaves behind to mourn her death her mother, Joan; two daughters, Dayna Johnson (Joe) of Columbus and Rachel VanPelt (Matt Greenlee, fiance') of Winder, GA; her brother, Billy Kravtin (Teresa); and nephew, Taylor Kravtin of LaGrange, GA; and many loving relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. The family wants to thank the John B. Amos Cancer Center, especially Dr. A. Pippas, Dr. A. Rodriquez and all of the nurses who were so wonderful to Bryna.  We also want to deeply thank her devoted caretakers who loved, and were loved by, Bryna, Wondra Brown, Chantel Short, Tracy Pryor, Amanda Moore, Kim Myers, Paulette Howell, Mary Pryor, and Alice Davis, who made it all possible. May our beautiful daughter, mother, and sister, Bryna Joy, now rest in peace. We will all miss her so very much.
