Phenix City, Alabama - Cecil Francis Smith, 77years old, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on February 9, 2022, in Phenix City, Alabama. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and coach.
Cecil will be remembered for his humor, kindness, generosity, and love of life. An avid Alabama football and Braves baseball fan, he spent most of his energy cheering for himself on all 18 holes at Lakewood golf course.
Cecil was born in Columbus, Georgia to Zula Mae and Daniel C. Smith. He is survived by his wife Norma Smith; five children, Cee Smith, Amy Smith, Traci Smith Phillips, Nick and Angelique Cantelli and stepson Robert Cantelli; seven grandchildren- Heather Brown(husband Jeffrey), Cain Smith(wife Taylor), Cameron Wood, Bailey Smith, Jake Phillips, Ian Phillips, Sam Phillips, RJ Cantelli, Chance Cantelli, Gabrhianna Cantelli; five great grandchildren Hunter Brown, Jaylee Brown, Easton Smith, Corbin Smith, Ben Lee, and many loving cousins.
After 28 years as a Civil Servant in both Ft. Benning and the Phenix City Post Office, he directed his passions serving as a local real-estate agent. Embedded in his community, Cecil's generosity was unparalleled. From fundraising to coaching, Cecil was devoted to impacting lives both on and off the field.
He was loved beyond measure and will be missed so very much.
