Columbus, GA- Mr. Christopher Lee Banks passed away Monday at St. Francis Hospital at the age of 28.
The beloved son of Mrs. Diane Watt Banks of Columbus and the late Lawrence L. Banks, Christopher was a Columbus native who was a 2008 graduate of George W. Carver High School. He attended Alabama State College and was a member of Macedonia Christian Ministries. He was employed with Panasonic Industries. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Alice Watt and his beloved aunts, Debra Jones, Linda and Brenda Watt.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories, include: his wife, April Poellnitz Banks; a daughter, Zamiyah Banks; a son, Lawrence Banks; two stepchildren, Landon and Jayda Smith; a sister, Alicia Menzie (Ernest); a niece and nephew, Aaliyah and Ernest Menzie III; three beloved aunts, Shirley McCormick, Sarah Seldon and Patricia Seldon (Sylvester); a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Banks will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 12 noon at Macedonia Christian Ministries with interment in Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, 2 til 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at progressivefuneralhome.com.

Chris ,baby I pray that God is with you in the beautiful kingdom above. I remember you , my son saqurious O'Neal was in the Carver high school band as well as Alabama state. Mrs. Banks I pray God keeps you sister. I remember paying my son band fees to you. We love you and my son and I are deeply sorry for your lost. God bless you.
