I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Clara since Art and I came to Columbus in 1962. My first job as an RN was at St. Francis Hospital and Clara was already there. She was a gracious lady, as well as a consumate professional. She will be sorely missed by all of us whose lives she touched. Our world is, indeed, a better place because she lived here. We extend our deepest sympathies to her entire family. May God grant you His peace, which passeth all understanding. Cherish all the wonderful memories you have of sharing her life.

Frances Sue & Everyone, It is with much sadness that I read of your loss. Your Mom always did so much to ensure that we all had fun at your house growning up! I remember your rabbit - how many Mother's would have allowed that? Memories of Clara make me smile! I'm not sure that you knew I had the pleasure of working with her at Pine and Oak Manor in the early 70's. What a true professional. Please know my heart & prayers are with you all, as well as my love.

Clara and my late wife Lois were wonderful friends within Rozell Fabiana's Gracious Ladies of Georgia Circle. To think of her was with respect and admiration, even on the tennis court. She was a friend in sunshine and in shadow.

Clara Kearley Brown was a very gracious lady and a wonderful friend when my own mother was at Oak Manor for her long last years. Our family loved Mrs Brown greatly. In reading her obituary I have learned how many wonderful things Mrs Brown has done but I am not surprised. I'm glad to have known her.

My sympathies on your mother's passing. Clara and my mother, Francine Dimenstien, not only worked together for many years but were also friends.Mom had so much respect for her and admired her so that she always said Oak Manor was the only place. She certainly set the standard for nursing homes. i remember working there one summer and scrubbing mattresses because someone thought they smelled something!!!!Clara was also a mentor for me as I pursued an education in dentistry. she set an example that women could do what ever they wanted. She will truly be missed

Aunt Francis Sue, Uncle Wayne, Pam, Mark, Tyson and the Brown family...

We are so saddened by your loss. How inspiring was the life of service she lead for others! Far too recently are we learning how the gift of life is too short. I'm so glad Ms. Brown was able to share her wisdom, kindness and caring with those around her for 86 years...it shows through in the legacy she leaves behind, whereas your family too emulates these same qualities. Know that we love you, wish we were there to wrap our arms around you and tell you we're sorry. There is nothing more precious than family! Sorry we can't be there to further support you. We are thinking of you often.

Alice Kay and family, I was so very saddened to learn a few hours ago of your mother's passing. I enjoyed visiting with her recently when I saw you and your mother and family at Wayne's headquarters. She was an amazing woman and set such an example for us all to follow in every way. Jesus calls us all to be servants and your mother lived out the teachings of Jesus every day, all of her life. God bless you as you walk through the next few days and as you are filled with the love and memories she leaves you with. She will walk beside you every day in her spirit and be with you to remind you just how much she loved you. Blessings, Cheryl Tommey Crosby

Alice Kay and Frances Sue, I remember so fondly playing at your house and growing up there. Your Mama was such a sweet lady and my Mother, Adell Brooks knew her well when they were young women. We lost Daddy in February this year and Mama in June. We truly share your sense of loss. They were both great ladies and "Morningside Mamas". Know that your family is in my prayers. If you get a minute, email me sometime. Susan (Brooks) Tharp

Harry, Frances Sue, Alice Kay and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Your Mom & Dad were both wonderful people who always made me feel welcomed in your home.
Harry, I can still remember your mom laughing and shaking her head at some of the shenanigans we pulled.
God bless each of you during this time of sorrow.

Mrs. Clara Brown inspired and pushed me into nursing! She was strong and compassionate at the same time. She meant everything you were told to do! Once I became a nurse we ran into one another and she was so proud of what I had become. Mrs Brown was such a gracious lady and will be surely missed.

It is with much sadness that I note the passing of Clara Brown. I met her at one of the "Gracious Ladies of Georgia" events and would see her from time to time, usually with mutual friend Mary Reed. I knew she was instrumental in founding Columbus Hospice. She was always such a pleasant person to meet and greet. I liked her enormously. My sincere condolences to her family and all who knew her.

I had the honor to work with Mrs. Brown at Oak Manor years ago. She instilled a lot of work ethics as a nurse that I carried with me in my career. She was a very caring and compassionate person. She was a wonderful lady and I know she will be truly missed by her family as well as the community.
