Clarence H. Arrington April 19, 1911 - December 2, 2008 COLUMBUS, GA — Clarence H. Arrington, 97, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday December 5, 2008 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel with Reverend Don James officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday December 4, 2008 at the funeral home. Mr. Arrington was born April 19, 1911 in Lee County, AL son of the late Lawrence Hardy Arrington and Nellie Ophelia Thompson Arrington and was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Tucker Arrington and his son, Lance H. Arrington. He was a retired dispatcher with Georgia Power Company with 46 years of service. He was a member of the Rose Hill Methodist Church. Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Linda and Eddie Akers of Columbus, his son and his wife, William A. and Pennie Arrington of Midland, GA, daughter-in-law, Carol B. Arrington of Winter Park, FL, 2 sisters, Frances Nell Arrington of Columbus, Ruth Griffin of Columbus, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted and memorials may be made to Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909 in memory of Clarence H. Arrington or to a charity of your choice.
