Clyde Leroy Rupert July 15, 1923 - October 5, 2008 COLUMBIA, MD — Clyde Leroy Rupert, 85, of Columbia, MD, died Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Somerford Place Assisted Living. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 10th at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Ellicott City, MD. The viewing is scheduled for Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home, Inc., Ellicott. Mr. Rupert was born July 15, 1923 in Williamsport, PA to the late Eleanor Loveland Rupert and the late Clyde Leroy Rupert. He was a Columbus, GA resident for 33 years and was employed as the NCR branch manager. He had a 50 year career with NCR having worked in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Durham NC and Columbus offices. A passionate golfer, he had a hole-in-one to his credit and played at Augusta National twice, he also enjoyed woodworking. Mr. Rupert is survived by his loving wife, Jane A. Rupert; sons, Clyde L. Rupert of Plano, TX, William Rupert of Memphis, TN, Ronald Rupert of Houston, TX and Scott Rupert of Frisco, TX; daughters, Mary Rupert Perseghin of Columbia, MD, Joan Rupert of Los Angeles, CA and Catherine Rupert of Vienna, VA; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, 13 nieces and nephews.
