Midland, GA- Cooper Grant Hamer, 48, of Midland, GA died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Brandon Brooks and Mr. John Massengale officiating. The following will serve as Active Pallbearers: Steve Bush, John Massengale, Mike Hamer, Lane Hamer, Cam Lummus, Ernie Kirk and Kevin Hamer. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamer was born April 16, 1968 in Columbus, GA son of Sherry (Fincher) Lummus-Palmer of Newnan, GA and the late Ferrell Hamer. He worked in Cyber Security for Earthlink. Mr. Hamer loved motorcycles, fishing and dogs, and he was always the life of the party.
Survivors include his mother, Sherry Lummus-Palmer (Jim) of Newnan, GA, brothers, Mike Hamer of Brooksville, FL and Lane Hamer (Reba) of LaGrange, GA, nephew, Sly Rosato, nieces, Miranda Hamer and Madelyn Hamer all of LaGrange, GA, step-sisters, Jeanette Lummus Buffalo (Lee) of Blue Ridge, GA and Leslie Lummus Baughman (Brad) of San Francisco, CA, step-brother, Cam Lummus, III (Teresa) of Sharpsburg, GA, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

So sorry for your loss. I know what you are going through we lost our 51 year old son January 23, 2017 & celebrated his life February 18, and today was his birthday. He was a special person to me and my family. We kept in touch only a few times a year but it was always a great conversation and heart warming. He will be missed dearly.
