Buena Vista, GA- Mr. Curtis J. Irving of Buena Vista, GA passed Wednesday, April 2, 2014. He was 77 years of age.
Born in Richland, GA on January 31, 1937, Mr. Irving was the son of the late Robert L. and Meller Nee Shipp Irving. He was retired from Royal Crown Cola Company with over 20 years of service, and was a member of Pinehurst Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Lucille Jackson Irving, and three brothers, Albert, Finis and Earl Irving.
Surviving are: three sons, Johnny Irving (Betty), Curtis Irving, Jr. (Annie) and Alfred Irving (Doris); one daughter, Shirley Wilborn (Daniel); twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grand child; seven brothers, James E. Irving (Zelma), Robert Irving, Jr., Edress Irving (Matilda), Walker K. Irving (Lois), McArthur Irving (Elenora), Bobby Irving (Evelyn), and Timothy Irving (Venita); five sisters, Forace Hawkins (Alton), Geneva Clark, Doris A. Carr (Russell), Reva Jenkins (Roger), and Brenda I. Jones (Franklin); several nieces and nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Irving will be held Today, April 8, 2014 at 1:30 pm at the Pinehurst Baptist Church with interment following in Evergreen Memorial Park. Reverend Tony Dickerson, pastor will officiate. Family member and friends are to assemble at the Church at 1:15 the today. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donation be make to the Pinehurst Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements entrusted to the staff of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc. "A Touch of Dignity for Those Who Care."
