Ft. Mitchell, AL- Mr. Darrell F. Middlebrooks, 56, of Ft. Mitchell, AL passed on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Middlebrooks will be conducted at 1:00 PM EST on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Church of Christ at Seale, 4787 Old Seale Hwy, Seale, AL 36875. Bro. Malcom Waller, pastor officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Green Acres Cemetery according to the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home, Inc. Viewing will be held at the funeral home located at 927-5th Avenue, Columbus on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM with the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity's Omega service beginning at 5:00 PM.
Darrell was born on December 2, 1962 in Fort Jackson, SC to Ben Middlebrooks and the late Mittie Ethel Dozier Middlebrooks. He is a graduate of Kendrick High School and Southern University. He retired from the Columbus Consolidated Government as a police officer where he attained the rank of detective. Darrell was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the Fraternal Order of Police. In 2003 he professed his life to Christ and was united in holy matrimony to the former Chastist Caldwell on August 2, 2003.
His loving memories will be cherished by his devoted wife, Chastist Middlebrooks; four sons, Jayden Middlebrooks, Darius Middlebrooks, Damion Ali Cleare, Darryl Middlebrooks; one daughter, Darrylin Charisse Middlebrooks; father, Ben Middlebrooks (Kathy); three sisters, Kathy Jones, Latangie Craig, Deloris Hudson; in-laws, Tom Caldwell (Peggy); grandchildren, Damien Ali Cleave, and Amora Lord; one nephew, Alexander Craig (Maya); one niece, Oniesha Middlebrooks and a host of other family and friends.

Darrell was a great police officer and a better person. I really enjoyed working with him in our squad. He kept me laughing and taught me a lot. He will be truly missed.
