Columbus, Georgia - Mrs. Essie Butler-Horn, 67 of Columbus, GA passed Wednesday, August 10, 2022 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon EST, Friday, August 19, 2022 at Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Noble D. Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 2-5 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mrs. Essie Butler-Horn was born May 4, 1955 in Russell County, AL to Annie Butler and the late Ben Butler. She retired from AFLAC after 16 years.
Survivors include her mother, Annie W. Butler; two brothers, Tommy Butler (Adriene) and Willie Butler (Patricia); a sister, Ann Reeves (David); a nephew, Roderick Jones (Valencia); a niece, Katrina Hill (Bradley); three nieces, seven nephews; a friend, Randy Carswell and a host of other family and friends.

I had no idea Ms. Essie had passed until I came across this today!! Essie was a co-worker, but more than that, she was a friend. I will miss her greatly.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I met Ms. Essie at Aflac. I will always treasure our friendship at and outside of Aflac. I will miss our Fab 5 Aflac group. Although you will not be with us physically, your spirit will always be with us. Love you Ma Essie!
