Gary L. Bland June 19, 1945- March 8, 2006 COLUMBUS, GA— Gary L. Bland, 60, of Columbus, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today, March 10, 2006 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel with Reverend Gary Richardson officiating. Entombment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. Mr. Bland was born June 19, 1945 in Madison, Indiana, son of the late Orville Bland and Norma Breck Bland. He was the retired owner and operator of Multi Purpose Canopy and a member of Central Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Diane Bland of Columbus, his daughters, Sherri (Bill) Fielding of McDonough, Ga., Julie Howard of Wolf City, Texas; his seven beloved grandchildren, Sydney Fielding, Madison Fielding, Carson Fielding, Colby Fielding, Alexandria Hilliard, Lauren Hilliard, Olivia Hilliard, who affectionately called him papaw; several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to all at Vista Care Hospice who helped Mr. Bland in the time of his illness.
