George J. Fuqua February 18, 1944 - April 7, 2010 PHENIX CITY, AL— George J. Fuqua, 66 of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday April 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. EST at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Dan Deliz officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Sunday (today) from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Fuqua was born February 18, 1944 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Seymore and Nellie McCrane Fuqua. He was retired from Rainbow Foods and was a member of Sunderlan Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Joanne Beckham Fuqua of Phenix City, AL; son, Kevin Fuqua and wife, Angie of Phenix City; daughter, Shannon Johnston and husband Dean of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Robert Fuqua and John Fuqua both of Phenix City; sisters, Evelyn Bishop and husband, George of Lake City, FL, Betty Callaway and husband, Grant of Titusville, FL; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
