Randy, when I received the word that you were gone my heart just sank and I did not want to believe what I was hearing. Although we are family we only met a few years ago and that meeting sparked a friendship and your footprints will forever be on my heart. I pray that the Holy Spirit, who is our comforter, comfort your family today and always.
I love you always!!

When ever I came to Columbus I would come to your church to hear one of your wonderful sermons. I never got to tell you how much they meant to me, it seems as if you were ministering just to me because I would have just been through a simular issue that you would be preaching on. How could you have known what was troubling me? Thank you for everything. You were a great pastor and if any one asks thats what I will say.

ii smile because ii know that heaven iis better than earth!! hope you are restinq peacefully!!

Wow, ii mean what can ii truly say. You were a Man of God. Truly a Man of God. ii remember like yesterdaii, at the State Congress in Brunswick, Ga,(just a little qirl then, about 13)ii was iin your class. Discipline for the Youth. We had sooo much fun iin that class, with you teaching us about the word, how to obey our parents, the 10 commandments, and don't forget ROleplay. That was the best part. I ssen you over the years at the Convention. This Summer, there was a three way 1st place in Mime Dancinq between three churches of course. Mt. Zion Baptist(my church), Mt. Pilgrim *Colum.Ga* and your church (Forrest Park)... ii didnt even know that was your church until that day when you were at my church, September 4, 2010. ii was curious about the class ii was iin because ii was the onlii 18 year old iin the whole adult class. ii was sad. because ii missed my friends iin the other classes. But when ii seen your face, ii looked back into my memory, and ii was like OH SNAP, thats my former teacher from conqress. my eyes stayed glued as yhu tauqht the adults that had never seen you before. but ii knew you, and ii loved your teachings. ii never thought that day would be the last time ii see yhu. When ii first heard about the tragedy, ii knew ii was iin denial, because ii just seen you Saturday. You looked sooo well. So innocent. And to me, you still are, because when its our time to qo, iits our time to qo!! yhu taught me that Saturday when you taught my class at my church.. nn even though that was the last day ii have seen your face, ii will never let qo off the fact that you were a part of heart as well too. ii will miss you soo much Rev. Stephen. ii love you, and ii will never forqet the little times we've spent toqether. May Heaven forever B your Home!!
--and ii also will like to add condolences to the family. ii know that you all love him. ii do too. ii just pray and God will always make sure that you are alright. ii love you all too.

He who has gone, so we but cherish his memory, abides with us, more potent, nay, more present than the living man.
Hold tight to memories for comfort. Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.

still totally speechless.... To the family my deepest condolences and my regrets that I will not be able to be in attendance for the homegoing services. Everything from Children's Hour, Sunday School, Choir rehearsals, drama department, high school, V.O.C.A.L., high school graduation, Randy and I shared a lot of childhood memories together. Even back then the writing was on the wall that Randy was destined to one day become a preacher. A full life was definitely fulfilled by Brother Stephen!! God Bless ~ Humphery Family

Celebration
I walked by the church one day and said, ' I wonder what goes on in there because it was a sunday and the church was huffing and puffing, choir singing, people shouting and I had to know. I knew when i visisted this is where I wanted to be. H II, opened his arms up and never detracted his love and respect. Remember how his voice would go into a gurgle like sound when the spirit hit him as he was preaching? My step- children found fascination with that. Boy could he put it on too, those sharp suits and alligator boots, it was like he and the youth pastor had fashion show every sunday. Lady Stephens, to you I say, the technicalities of life will always be present so listen to the still sweet voice of The Great I Am, block out the 'haters', I gotta be real. You loved him and that wasn't wrong, likewise he adored you. The day I washed his car and we were in the parking lot talking you pulled up and he said,' I gotta cut it short brother Dryden, I aint kissed her all day! That's what he did too. I was having a financial difficulty and though it was not totally in his authority, he vouched for me and saw me through! His death was untimely, if you will; but, his life was purposed. Know my family loves and delves in your pain. Be Ye Not Disconsolate.... Dryden

To my 1st Lady Stephen and your children, Mrs. Stephen, and all of my FPBC family. GOD IS STILL GOD. AND HE IS GOD ALL BY HIMSELF. God is still in control and in charge. We have suffered a devastating blow. Our Beloved shepherd is no longer here with us now. He has fought a good fight and he has ran a good race. His work here is complete. God said " Servant, well done" it's time for you to come home. I have work for you elsewhere. Yes, it is hard for us to imagine life without him right now. But, he will live on forever in our hearts each and every day through his love and his teaching. With prayer, WE will get through this together. For " WE ARE A FAMILY OF FAITH. AND NOTHING'S TO BIG FOR OUR GOD". Let us please always remember Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not to thy own understanding. In all things acknowledge Him and He will direct thy path.I love you all deeply. Sister Zula Raymond and family

I first came to 4th St. in 1992 and that is when I met Randy. I knew then that God had a call on his life. We were the same age so that put us together a lot. After moving back to Louisiana,I would come back often and always find Randy doing something at 4th St. We would often go out and eat together with people such as Alethea Russell-None, Larry Gidron, Jr. and others of our age group. Those were the days! The first Applebees I ever ate at was with Randy..LOL. God fixed it so that I would return to Columbus in 2008. During this time I served as Minister of Music at 4th St. It was at this time I saw the work Randy was doing at Forest Park and on other levels. I wasn't surprised because I knew his training. I am really going to miss my friend. I will never forget how he, his mother and his sister, Faith stood with me as laid my dad to rest. I will never forget how he came to the hospital to pray for me when I didn't know I was in the world. I still have that big basket that Faith and Brandi brought me. My heart is aching because I can't be there with the family. Hold on and keep praying. As Pastor Flakes often sings, "There's a Brighter Day Ahead" I love you all so much!!!!

I can’t comprehend just how sad you must feel
For the loss of someone you love.
This sorrowful time must still feel unreal
And you’re looking for strength from above.
I hope, from my heart, that your pain will decrease,
That your spirit will gain strength again,
And I pray that your faith will create inner peace
And that God will send blessings--Amen
