Herman Askew Jr. aka Uncle Bubba as I knew him. He is my mother's brother. It is unfortunate that we always lived thousands of miles away but I will treasure the few times that I did get to see him and the time that I spoke w/him before he went home to the Lord. I will always love and remember him and he will always be a part of my life.

My deepest and heartfelt sorrow goes out to the Askew family. Herman was the first person I met when I arrived in Panama, in October 1978, we became instant friends. We were station together at Ft. Benning, GA in the late 80s. I will always remember his quiet mannerism, never a harsh word about anyone. I know he is at peace and that is what I wish also for the family members he leave behind. May God Bless You and Keep You.

Love,

Chris & Joyce Nall

"Bubba"

After years of not seeing you I was so happy to see you last December. And while it too was a time of momentary sadness due to Queen's passing, you left an impact on the family and especially myself.

You spoke in a voice that carried the Peace of God during a time that caught us all by surprise. Your Godly confidence and assurance spilled over to the other men in our family and together you all were the united front our family needed at the time. I can still see the photo of all of you together in my mind. It saddens me that I will not have more family gatherings to see your smiling face, to laugh or joke with you, or to hear your wisdom. God had made a difference in your life and you seemed to make opportunities to share that with others. I love that. And I love you cousin. I will miss you dearly...but I will see you again! Until then.
