Columbus, GA- Mr. Herman Wesley Rayford passed away peacefully Monday at the Piedmont Midtown Medical Center at the age of 93.
A son of the late Frank Sr. and Roberta Pitts Rayford, Mr. Rayford was born in Macon, GA and was a 1942 graduate of the William H. Spencer High School. He was a member of the Cusseta Road Church of Christ, and had been a Master Brick Mason for over 50 years. He was the proprietor of Rayford's Masonry Company. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Mary Katheryn Rayford, and two brothers, James and Mathis Rayford.
Surviving his departure with cherished memories, include: his wife, Mrs. Yvonne H. Rayford; his children, Eloise L. Rayford, Nakita Miles, Marcia Body and Justin Howe (Kim); a grandson, John Reginald Boykins; a sister-in-law, Joann Rayford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Rayford will be Laid to Rest on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Green Acres Cemetery following his Homegoing Celebration at 11:00 a.m. at the Cusseta Road Church of Christ with Dr. Elliott Glasgow officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 2 til 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at progressivefuneralhome.com. Progressive Funeral Home, Inc. I was glad and proud to attend the services for my brother in Christ, forever known to me as "Deacon Herman Rayford". I thank God for the years I served with him taking care of the Business and families of Wynnton Hill Missionary Baptist Church
