Horace Todd Obituary

Horace H. Todd May 6, 1925 - October 6, 2004 PHENIX CITY, AL - Horace H. Todd, 79, of Phenix City, Ala., died Wednesday Oct. 6, 2004 at his home. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Phenix City Chapel with the Rev. Roosevelt Oakes officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Todd was born May 6, 1925 in Louisville, Ala., son of the late Albert Todd and Ethel Williamson Todd. He retired from the Swift Textile Mills and was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Todd was a member of the Silver Run Baptist Church in Seale, Ala. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Karbo and infant grandson, Jodi Broussard. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Todd of Phenix City; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and William Van Horn of Tifton, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Rudolph and Nell Todd of Donaldsonville, Ala.; grandchildren, Jimmy Milligan of Phenix City; Rhonda and Terry Chambley of Columbus; Marty and Julia Van Horn of Ellaville, Ga.; Stephanie Van Horn of Tifton, Ga.; Adam and Susan Cook of Americus, Ga.; Shane and Pat Smith of Alabaster, Ala.; Joey and Tina Broussard of Montivallo, Ala.; great grandchildren, Lauren and Megan Van Horn, Devon Milligan, Elizabeth Chambley, Terry Chambley, Jr., and James Christenson, nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Hospice.
