Mark, You may not remember me from high school but I went to Fairview with my parents for awhile and remember your Dad as always being a kind and friendly man who always made me feel welcome. My Momma recently re-joined Fairview and when I was visiting I got to meet your Dad again. I got to shake hands with him and once again I felt so welcome to be there. He was a man who truly loved the Lord Jesus. My Daddy has been gone for sometime now and this time in between is hard to bear but I know I will see him and your Dad again. I believe it with all my heart. We have family prayer every night and are praying for Gods' grace and strength for you and your family. In christian love and with much respect. Mike Brakefield

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Although we did not know David, we know if he was anything like Don, he was a good man. Don adored David and by reading the other entries we can see why. May you take comfort in knowing that David is in Heaven at the feet of his Heavenly Father.

To: Mrs. Marion Baker, Mark, Susan, and Family. I was shocked to read online about the tragedy in Columbus that claimed the life of David. I know that He will be missed but is in a better place now. I have fond memories of him having been a member of Fairview Baptist Church from 1986-1987 while living in Columbus during that time. I have memories of later years coming back to fairview to visit after moving away from Columbus and still seeing him and Ms. Baker, who was my Sunday School teacher when I first began attending Fairview. May God bless you all during this difficult time.

David Baker will be truly missed by my girls and I. He was an absolute joy to be around. You knew if Mr. Baker was present all would be laughing and having a good time. He was always doing for others. And I appreciate all he did for my family. My daughter Ashley loved him dearly, and I know he was crazy about her as well. My heart is heavy with grief and my sympathy goes out to his wonderful wife and family at this time of loss.
David Baker let his light shine before all men. I truly saw Jesus in him. He taught us how to have forgiveness and eternal life in Heaven. He also taught us how you should treat others. Heaven is a little brighter today with him there. God bless the Baker family. May you draw strength from God and the beautiful memories left to you by Mr. David.
