Montgomery, Alabama - Mr. Jerome "Rat" Scruggs, 67, passed on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in Montgomery. A Chapel Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home. Dr. Curtis Crocker, Jr. will officiate and Minister Debbie Crawford will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL with military honors. Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the funeral home located at 927 - 5th Avenue, Columbus.
Jerome "Rat" Scruggs was born on December 24, 1953 in Columbus to the late Coleman Scruggs and Fannie Hampton Scruggs. He attended Spencer High School and Kendrick High School graduating in 1972. He served in the United States Air Force and later worked as a machine operator at Rheems. Mr. Scruggs was a proud member of Friendship Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, a wife, Nancy Scruggs; two sons, Tuborie Scruggs and Corey (Jacqueline) Scruggs; one sister, Phyllis Scruggs Williams; one brother, Albert Scruggs (Regina); four grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
