Phenix City, Alabama- Jerry Donald "Uncle Don" Eiland, 82, of Phenix City, Alabama died peacefully at his home on March 6, 2017.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his nieces home, Betty Jo Weed, at 13750 Hwy US 280 E, Salem, Alabama at 5:00 PM, with his nephew, James "Bug" Eiland officiating.
Mr. Eiland was born July 31, 1935 to the late Lester B. and Florence Hardy Eiland in Defuniak Springs, Florida. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army reserve, was a carpenter, Baptist by faith, enjoyed reading the scripture on a regular basis, and fellowship with others. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 daughters, Mary Yolanda, Gloria Jean, Donna Gail, and Sandra Jeanette Eiland. 3 sisters, Caroline Gardner, Dorothy Eiland, and Sandra Littleton.
Surviving are his children, Terrence Donald Eiland, Donna Renee Eiland, Angela Jeanine Morgan, and Amanda Hannah, 4 brothers, James M. Eiland, Leonard B. Eiland, Dana L. (Jeanne) Eiland, and Gary P. (Melanie) Eiland. 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews whom he cherished with all his heart.
