Joe Roberts January 13, 1929- March 31, 2006 LAGRANGE, GA— Mr. Joe Roberts, 77, of LaGrange, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at the home of his daughter and son-law, Cindy and Frank Stone. Mr. Roberts was born January 13, 1929 in LaGrange; son of the late Ernest Alvin and Sally Roberts. He had lived in LaGrange all of his life and was a member of the Second Baptist Church. Mr. Roberts was the owner and operator of Joe Roberts Used Cars on Hill Street and was retired from Diverse Power after 41 and 1/2 years. He was a member of the Free & Accepted Mason's Union Lodge #28, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Frank Stone of LaGrange; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kay Roberts of Manchester; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; bother and sister-in-law, Barnell and Rosa Roberts; former wife, Dessie Roberts all of LaGrange, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Roberts and a brother Lorell Roberts. The funeral services for Mr. Joe Roberts will at 2:00 Sunday at the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with Rev. Charles Chapman and Pastor Buck Fancher officiating. Interment will be at Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family will be at the home of his daughter and son-in law, Cindy and Frank Stone, at 205 Riley Road; and will receive friends at the funeral home this (Saturday) evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
