I truly miss my beloved sister and best friend. I miss the way we could finish each other's thoughts and sentences. Not a day has gone by that I haven't wanted to call her to see what she thought about something, or just to tell her about my day. Or for a recipe or to talk about our 11 grandkidlings. I ache for her presence, and miss her constantly. I will always carry you in my heart, as you had me in yours.
I am grateful for the Webster family you brought into my life. My dear brother now, Glenn, my nieces and nephew, Marleah, Sarah, and Will, and their families.
I miss the laughter that turned to tears over the silliest things. The giggling Grugin Girls at West Springfield HS, when we just couldn't stop giggling, and it was contagious to those around us. I miss those comforting hugs we shared, the ones you then shared with others, making this world a better place to be. I miss your kind heart, your glowing beauty, and the encouragement you always gave. I miss that you are not here for my girls and grandkidlings. They adore you so. You could always see the good side of me, when even I could not. You made me, your little sister, better for having lived my entire life looking up to you, adoring you, being so proud of you. This emptiness in my heart aches for you, dear Kim. You are such a great part of me. I would not be who I am without your love and encouragement. You are my shining star, my sun, my moon. Life will never be the same without you, but life is so rich because of you. I'll miss you forever, dear, sweet Sis. I send my hugs to heaven, for you and Mom.
Love,
Baby Suky

General Webster and family,
I was shocked and deeply, deeply saddened to learn today of Kim's passing last month. You and Kim are, to me, the epitomy of a couple deeply in love and dedicated above all else to each other and to your children, grandchildren, and extended and Army families. You always put the welfare of those around you first, even when facing the challenges of long, forced, and dangerous separations, or when fighting your own battles against life-threatening illness. You have both been inspirational figures in my life, and I count myself lucky to have served and spent time with you and to have known Kim. I can only begin to imagine the loss you are feeling, but I know that your courage and strength, along with Kim's enduring love and presence, and the love of your family will sustain you through these darkest of hours. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and Mary Rose joins with me in conveying to you our deepest and most sincere sympathy and condolences.

Dear Webster family,
We share in the sorrow over Kim's leaving this earth. We have wonderful memories of her and your family, as our across-the-street neighbors at the War College.
Kim had a sweet, sweet spirit. Once, when she was not at home, some flowers were delivered, but were brought to my home. I was disappointed when they came-but were not for me. When Kim picked them up later, she gave me a hug... and one of the lovely roses.Small gestures, given in love, stay with us. We were blessed to have known her.
Praying for you all-

I first met Kimberly at a Bradwell school function, then at the many functions we both attended at Ft.Stewart. She was so wonderful when my husband was deployed, always asking how me family was getting along and finally we spent time together as I worked at the oncology office. Kimberly was a ray of sunshine.
I hope your loving memories of her will sustain you all through this difficult time.

2Timothy4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
A life well lived. . . .wife, mother, daughter, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend. . . .she loved us all and had enough love for all of us. Wouldn't we all be pleased to have accomplished so much, to have so much to show for our lives? My thoughts are full of happy memories of beautiful, kind, wise, strong, fun, grace-filled Kimberly and my heart is breaking because her family and friends will miss her so much. Comfort comes because she is in heaven and I know we will see her again. Once you were Kimberly's friend neither time apart nor distance diminished the bond. We were college roommates although for a great deal of that time she was traveling to visit the love of her life, Fuzzy/Glenn, at West Point; she knew right away that he was the one. To see the unconditional love that she had for her family and friends was humbling. We might all strive to be non-judgmental but Kimberly lived that way with an unselfishness and compassion for others that is special and unfortunately rare. I am blessed to have known her and will keep her in my heart.

Glenn and the Webster children,
Kim was the kindest person I've ever met. I remember the first time I ever saw her and I loved her at that very moment: it was her welcome from the Officers' wives at Ft Stewart and she showed up in a beautiful sundress and totally bald. I was floored by her friendliness, her courage, and her grace. As I got to know her that year she continued to impress me. She was more involved and cared for more people than all the rest of us put together. Years went by and I didn't see her but that didn't matter--we always picked right up where we left off and she made me feel that I was a special friend. I am so deeply sorry for your loss but we are all better for having known her. God bless you all!

Dear General Webster, Col Grugin and family,
I am sitting here with tears in my eyes from crying. I just saw todays paper and saw Kim's obituitary. My heart breaks.
Kim Webster was the single most amazing patient I had the privilege to know in my 35 year career. Her courage was beyond any I have witnessed. Her compassion made her unique. Her unselfish concern for other has set her in a class by herself.
This world is diminished greatly by Kim's death. We need more Kim Websters.
She will be missed tremendously. But her smile and influence will always be a treasure I have.

God Garden
God looked around his garden
And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, 'Peace be Thine'.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

Glenn,
Bob and I were devastated to hear about Kim's passing! She had struggled for a long time but always did it with such a positive attitude. Nothing was going to get Kimberly down - she was a fighter and had such a kindred spirit! She is in the arms of the Lord now where she is pain free which I know gives you and your family some comfort. However, she is going to be missed so much! She always had a smile on her face and had such a positive attitude. You couldn't ask for a dearer friend. She gave so much to countless military families; she has truly left a legacy of love, compassion and caring. She might be gone but her spirit lives in so many! Our love and sympathy is with you and your family in this time of grief. Love, Bob and Lynn Wilson

To the Family of Kimberly Webster
My husband and I were privileged to have met both LTG(R) Webster and Mrs. Webster on June 14 of this year at the Change of Command for our son-in-law LTC Konczey in Fort Polk, LA.
Sometimes when you meet someone, you know instantly that you would love to know them better. This is the impression I got when I met Kimberly Webster, as well as LTG(R) Webster.
My daughter had received an award and the ribbon was over her hair on the back of her neck. I was three seats down in back of her, sitting next to LTG(R) Webster and could not reach over him to fix her hair, but, without being asked Mrs. Webster reached forward and gently pulled her hair up and over the ribbons. This was such a tender, simple, act of kindness, which spoke volumes to me as to Mrs. Websters character.
Mrs. Webster's face radiated warmth and kindness. I'm so sad that I only had such a brief visit with her and I know the world will be a sadder place now that it has lost such a gentle soul, as Kimberly Webster.
We are so sorry for your loss.

I met Kim at Ft. Polk in 1976. I was and am a civilian friend that attended Northwestern with her. She was such a 'real' person! I can remember her smile like it was yesterday. Last week I was visiting with Margie Morris about her out of town guests. I was so surprised to hear that it was Kim and Glen. I helped with her first baby shower at Margie and Roger Morris home. Dear Fuzzy,
We are so sad to hear of your loss. We are among the many who know that Kimberly was a very special person. Her ready smile, kindness to all, and inner strength meant that she was always such a joy to be around.
We are privileged to have known Kim and you from your earliest days and had the pleasure of sharing time with you at various stages during your Army career. She leaves a legacy as a devoted and loving wife and mother, a caring and compassionate leader among military support groups, and a true warrior with a seemingly tireless and positive spirit who inspired all those with whom she came into contact in spite of her medical challenges. We can only think of Kimberly Webster with a beautiful smile on her face, a kind word for all those in her presence, and a strong sense of pride in her husband and her family.
Kim will be missed by all of us who were privileged to know her, and our thoughts, prayers, and sympathies are with you and your family. May God bless and comfort you and give you the peace that only He can provide.

The first day I met Mrs. Webster in the late 90's, she was standing in the hall at ACS in Fort Irwin, CA wearing a plaid shirt, jeans and a backpack, eating an ice cream cone. I met her not as Mrs. Webster, but as Kim. There were never any airs about her, but from her composure you knew she was someone very special. She was always the bright light who entered a room with a big beautiful smile. When tragedy struck my family, she was right there and volunteered to drive the one and a half hours round trip to the nearest Wal-Mart to buy slips for my girls. She was there to wipe away my tears of grief and pain. The same pain I know your family must be experiencing now. When I relocated to the Fort Stewart area, I was pleasantly surprised and delighted when Gen. Webster took command because I knew that eventually I would see that bright smile and be greeted with a warm hug. I just want to say, if you have had the pleasure of meeting Kim, you met someone of compassion. To the Webster, Grugin Family may you continue to have the compassion of her memory and the great love she showed to all.

To the Webster Family,
We were deeply saddened to learn of your loss. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
Kimberly was such a kind person, who will be greatly missed by all who had the distinct pleasure of knowing her. Our fond memories of your loving wife date back to your days together in 2-77 AR at Fort Carson, CO. Throughout your career, she was always the very best member of your command team. She clearly demonstrated through her long fight that she was the greatest warrior amongst us all.
During our visits together in DC, FOB Falcon, Iraq, and later at Peterson AFB, though unspoken, my thoughts always gravitated towards her fight. No matter what we were doing for our Army that she too loved, it paled in comparison to the way she tackled every day of her recent years.
Kimberly has passed on to a better place now. You can take comfort and strength from the wonderful family and legacies that you both have together. I know that their love, as well as the love shared by your extended Army family, will get you through this sad time.
Our hearts and thoughts will be oriented on Fort Stewart, GA this weekend. May God bless you and your family during this time and always!

Dear Marleah and Family:
I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother! I only met her once but I always was so very happy when I saw your parent's SUV parked near your home, and watched them interact with Dominic and Layla. Your frequent updates on what your parents were doing while visiting with you shows a family that is tight knit, helpful, caring and loving. I am so sorry she is gone now physically from your life but her teachings, memories and love for you all will live on forever. I loved her last FB post to you the night before she passed away. It was so sweet! Hugs, Gabriele

To the Webster Famly,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Kimberly. We were shocked with the news, and we can only imagine the saddness you all are feeling with Kimberly's loss. Kimberly was a mom to our boys, an inspiration to the 3ID Family, and truly a friend to so many. She is sadly missed by us and everyone whose life she has touched in so many ways. Kimberly always gave and gave; she was a loving and caring person, a brave women, and a friend to all. We celebrate her life with you and the impact and the blessings she had to so many of us. And we pray God will bless you all as only He can, and as He has all of us because of Kim.
