Larry Sears October 21, 1950- December 29, 2004 COLUMBUS, GA— Larry Sears, 54, of Columbus, Ga., died Wednesday, December 29, at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 1, 2005 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel with Pastor Bobby Herron officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Dennis Smith, Chuck Orr, Jeff Herron, Scott Herron, Ray Allen, Ray Allen, Jr., Daren Harmon and David House. Mr. Sears was born Oct. 21, 1950 in Columbus, Ga., son of the late Edgar Paul Sears and Mildred Bell Sears. He was a retired store manager with Winn Dixie with twenty seven years service. Mr. Sears was on the 2004 Board of Directors for Columbus Youth Football and coached football at Clubview and Edgewood. He also coached fast pitch soft ball with the Columbus Challengers, the Lady Dawgs and at CVCC. Survivors include his wife, Annie Sears of Columbus, a son, Larry Sears, Jr. of Pa., his mother-in-law, Eva B. Traylor of Columbus, his niece, Betty Snell Holmes of Milton, Fla., great nephew, Jayson Holmes of Pennsacola, Fla. and Jeremy Holmes of Milton, Fla.
