Cusseta, GA- Mrs. Mattie L. King of 533 Broad Street, Cusseta GA passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was 74 years of age.
The daughter of the late Johnny and Willie Mae Walker Hollis, Mrs. King was born in Stewart County, GA on January 11, 1937. She was a member of Good Hope CME Church in Renfro, GA where she served with the Ushers' Ministry. She was a homemaker, devoted to her husband and family. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Henry L. Hollis and Eula Payne.
Surviving are: her husband of 56 years, Mr. George L. King, Sr.; three sons, George L. King, Jr. (Janice), Darryl E. King, and Roderick f. King (Gloria); one daughter, Cynthia King Gardner (Dr. Joseph); four grandchildren, Monteia, Desmond, Alisha and Taylor; one brother, Johnny L. Hollis; one sister, Marie White; a devoted niece, Regina Blackmon; devoted friends, Ollie Morton and Bernice Brooks; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Service for Mrs. King will be Wednesday, 1:00 pm at Good Hope CME Church with interment following in Liberty Hill Church Cemetery in Cusseta, GA. Rev. Paul Milton will officiate. Visitation is Tuesday, 2 til 5:00 pm at the funeral home. The cortege will depart from the residence at 12:30 the day of the service. Arrangements entrusted to the staff of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc.

This road of life is never easy but yet it was never told that it was. Aunt Mattie live a full life. love by so many. We hold the sound of her voice in our ear, her most famous words in our mouth and now we hold the love so close that she give to us in our hearts. May God comfort and keep us. Amen!!!!
