I have just heard of Melanie's passing. I am so sure you all know how much she loved each of you. Each time she spoke of you her voice was filled with love. Stan, Emily, Natalie & Allison,

I’m so very sorry to her about the passing of Melanie. She was such a kind, wonderful woman and she always had a smile on her face. When ever I think about my band parent days, she’s always one that comes to mind and I have such fond memories of those days and our times together. Dear Natalie,

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed having your mother as a sub teacher when I was at Wacoochee. She was my favorite sub and I had the pleasure of having her in my classroom nine times. She will be missed by many of us.

Dear Cindy, Stan, children and friends & family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Melanie had such a love for children - it was so evident during the times I spent with her in the nursery at ET. She talked of her kids with such love and adoration. Although the grieving process is painful, we have a hope that we will see our loved ones again through Christ. You are truly blessed to be able to read all the wonderful stories that Melanie's friends have related here.

Stan and girls,
I was sorry to hear about Melanie. She was such a sweet neighbor and friend to me years ago and girls.....she loved you all three of so much. She was always smiling no matter what was on her mind and she was so easy to talk too. I hadn't seen her in years, but I can tell from the other entries that she hadn't changed one bit! Please know that you are in our prayers at this time of loss. She will be missed.

This is to the whole family since I know all of you and each of you are very much loved by all.
I am sending my deepest sympathy. I know when all of Melanie's family is gathered to celebrate her and her life here on earth that God's love will fill the room and then some. I just wish I was there to feel the warmth and love. Melanie was a precious indiviual and an awsome mom. I was blessed to have known her just a little bit. About twelve years ago when I frist met Melanie, she shared a lot from her heart with me, and at the time we had only known each other a week. She had such a sweet spirit about her. I can only imagine if I knew her as well as those much closer to her and how much of a blessing Melanie was to those around her.
Cindy, you are blessed with having Melanie as a sister. May God comfort you now in your time of loss. James and I have all of you in our prayers this week.

Cindy: I am so sad to hear about Mel's passing but know that she is in a better place and finally free of pain. I know you will feel this loss for many days to come. I also know that one day when you think of Mel you will have a smile on your face instead of a tear in your eye because you will have so many wonderful memories of your times together. I will share some of those memories of Mel helping in the concession stand at HHS. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Stan, Emily, Natalie, and Ali. Much love to you all.

We wanted to say we are thinking of all of you.How sad we are that Melanie is no longer here but it is comforting to know she is with God and not hurting anymore. We will never forget her. She could always bring a smile to your face or make you laugh. And to hear and see the love she had for her family was wonderful! What a blessing the time we had with her. Wish we could be there but you all will be in our thought and prayers always.
Love to you all

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Cindy, My heart is deeply sorrowed by the loss of Melanie. I praise God that He brought you back into my life, of all places, the John B. Amos Cancer Center.... His timing is always so perfectly incredible. I know that you will find rest in our Lord and His grace and mercy will sustain you in the days to come. You are my dearest friend, my sister in Christ and will never be alone. Melanie has left us with so many memories. As I looked at the picture of her this morning, that is the Melanie I remember so well; full of life, fiesty, an enormous sense of humor and more importantly her deep love and loyalty to you, her dear sister, Stan, Emily, Natalie and Ali. I have watched her fight such an awesome fight over the last year and am honored to have been able to see her and go and give her a hug every time I knew she was at JBACC. She was an inspiration to me, as she handled her illness with grace, believing and accepting the Lord's good and perfect will for her life. As we waited for Vance Monday, as I saw Melanie FINALLY free of the pain that has plagued her, the words to I Can Only Imagine played over and over in my mind. Cindy, Melanie is surrounded by HIS glory, she is dancing with Jesus, she is standing in His presence, singing Hallelujah!!! That is the very peace that will sustain you in the days, months and years to come. Meanwhile, know that you are stuck with this sister on earth that loves you very much and will always be there for you.

January 28, 2009

CIndy, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your sister. I know nothing can replace her for you, but she will live on in your memories and through her children. God Bless you, he will comfort you.
