Michael Callinan Obituary
April 26, 1955 - May 24, 2025
Athens, Georgia - Michael William Callinan, age 70, of Athens, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 24, 2025, after a year-long illness. Born on April 26, 1955, in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, Mike, a '73 graduate of Carver HS, led an adventurous life filled with travel, sports, education, and teaching. (full obituary at www.legacy.com).
Mike is survived by his stepfather Frank Braski (Linda); siblings Tom (Diane) & John Callinan (Tammy), Margo Truett (Dan), Danny, Pat (Christine), Bill (Natasza), & Frank Braski (Cyndi); numerous nephews, nieces, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Major William Francis Callinan and Marilyn Ann Braski.
Funeral arrangements: June 19, 2025 at Catholic Center of the University of Georgia, 1344 S Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30605-Rosary at 10 a.m., Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., visitation & reception in the Center Hall until 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Oconee Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mike's memory to Athens Academy (www.athensacademy.org) or Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School (www.donovancatholichs.org).
Mike's light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be greatly missed. Mike wanted his final words to be: "Can't wait to see mom and dad in heaven, hopefully! GO DAWGS!"

We are very saddened by the news. Mike was such a great guy. I remember when he would come visit my mom her eyes would light up and she was so happy. I really enjoyed his conversations and he had such great stories to share. Amazing person.

We will miss Mike very much! We have so many memories dating back 40+years! We will cherish those memories. Tailgating & Georgia Football were so special. We looked forward to sharing his company everytime we came up for a game! Go Dawgs!

My son Matt and I flew down to Georgia for a game. My cousins made this trip so special for my son. To see the joy and excitement that came from this trip can´t be described. We stayed with Mike and he made us feel welcome and right at home. We had the most amazing time and I can´t thank my Entire Callinan/ Braski family enough for making memories that will last forever God Bless you Mike
