Phenix City, AL- Mylinn M. Smith, 64, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 pm Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, AL.
Ms. Smith was born December 20, 1949 in Ft. Riley, KA to the late Morris W. Smith and Onzell Williams Smith. She retired from K-Mart in Phenix City after 26 years and was working at Walgreens on Summerville Road until very recently. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Larry Smith and Steven Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Konkol and husband Gregory of Phenix City; grandchildren, Forrest, Meagan and Jordan all of Phenix City; sister, Alphia Strickland of Columbus, Ga; brother Morris Wesley Smith, Jr and wife Teresa of Rainsville, AL; many nieces, nephews, several dear and close friends and other extended family and friends.

I'm so very sorry to hear this sad news. I was a customer at Walgreens and she was always and sweet and kind lady. We were just talking recently and she wanted some Banana bubblegum that was like the gum sticks people give out when they have a baby. Well this past Saturday Dec 13th I found them for her. SO I went into the store on Sunday to see when she was working so I could give them to her and they don't me she passed. I was in total shock and couldn't say a word I just started crying and left. So I went back that afternoon to ask another clerk just to make sure we were talking about the same sweet lady bc I wasn't sure of her name only knew her face. I just couldn't believe it. Such a sweet and kinda sole. Praying for your family.

Dearest Mylinn: It brings me great sorrow to hear of your passing, but I know you are in Heaven Now. I remember working with you at KMART, before it moved to the location it is at now. You were a wonderfu, and very beautiful lady that I greatly admired, and a true friend. You passed way too young, but I suppose God needed his angel back! Sherry & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. You know Mylinn was my rock, I loved her dearly. Our last talk all she talked about was how she loved her babies. Sherry, she is so very proud of you, Forrest and Jordan, what a smile she had on her face when she talked about ya'll. I will always cherish my memories of her. I know she will be an angel to many.
