Myrtle Argo Massey October 4, 1914 - June 20, 2008 PHENIX CITY, AL — Myrtle Argo Massey, 93, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Friday, June 20, 2008 at Canterbury Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. EDT Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Vance Memorial Chapel, 3738 Hwy. 431 N., Phenix City, AL with Dr. David White officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening at the funeral home. from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Massey was born October 4, 1914 in Mitchell County, GA, daughter of the late William B. Argo and Mary Hart Argo. She was a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of service after which she received her RN degree at the age of 55. She served as a Red Cross volunteer and volunteered at the Columbus Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Massey was a Baptist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Massey; two daughters, Sonia Mixon Addison and Beth Mixon Bennett; a son, William Randy Mixon; one brother, William B. Argo; and a sister, Mildred Argo Kirkwood. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Osborne and husband, George of Phenix City and Mildred Kelly and husband, Alton of Ashville, AL; three sons, Dale Mixon of Coco Beach, FL, Larry D. Mixon and wife Beverly of Leesville, LA, Dwight Mixon and wife, Cheryl of Smiths Station, AL; a brother, Robert D. Argo and wife, Francis of Smiths Station, AL; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
