Columbus, Georgia - Mr. Otis Lee Griggs, Jr., 61, of Columbus, GA passed Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Columbus, GA. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Keith James, officiating. Interment to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 12-5 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Griggs was born January 17, 1959 in Ft. Mitchell, AL to the late Otis Lee Griggs Sr. and the late Annie Lee Griggs.
He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, graduate of Chavala High School and Troy State University, served in the U.S. Army and retired as Deputy Sheriff in Muscogee County. Survivors are his wife, Dianne Griggs; children, Carlos J. Griggs (Evetta), Sabrina N. Griggs, Curvie D. Griggs (Jack Douglas) and Fonda Y. Williams (Jonathan); brother, Gregory W. My brother O.G. My heart broke when I heard of his passing. I had the honor of working with my brother. I have so many great memories of work,part time work. There was never a dull moment with Griggs. He became a brother to me. Rest easy and you will never be forgotten. Check Check Griggs.
