Dr. Nett taught me more about my migraines in one year of office visits than all of of the other doctors I've ever seen, combined, and that spans at least twenty years. His knowledge was obvious and his compassion was genuine, and he was generous with both. No words can say how sorry we are at his loss, but we are also glad to have been part of his life for that short time. He will live on in our hearts and minds.

Dr. Nett was a wonderful doctor and human being. He helped my wife with her battle with migraines. He was also a very good friend. When my wife Magda had her accident last summer, he called into the ICU every day to see how she was doing. He also came by personally to see how my family and I were handling everything. Twenty one days later, when my wife died from her injuries, he was one of the first to call and offer his condolences and support. I'm sure Magda was there waiting for him when he entered into the kingdom of heaven. I will keep Bob and his family in my prayers.

We are so very sorry for your/our loss. Dr. Nett was one of a kind, as so many have said. He was able to effectively treat my headaches and help me to live a positive life. Not only that, he treated my husband and I with the utmost professionalism, yet kind and compassionate, and helped to make our 4 hour trip to see him very enjoyable. However, I can see through what I have read and seen that he was such a phenomenal family man, and you all are so very blessed to have had him in your lives. God bless you all.

Dear Nett family,

I'm a classmate of Bob's from USUHS, and our careers went in separate directions so I hadn't seen Bob since May of 1985. Nonetheless, I have very clear and distinct memories of Bob's smiling, cheerful face and warm, outgoing nature during our four years of medical school together. The rigors of medical school can be very stressful, and some respond by becoming isolated and competitive. Bob was precisely the opposite; always willing to help others in their studies, and projecting an open, collaborative approach to learning. I find it not at all surprising that he was teaching at the Academy of the Health Sciences at the time of his tragic and untimely death.
I am sure that I can say on behalf of the entire USUHS Class of '85 that we extend our heartfelt sympathies to Bob's entire family during this difficult time.

God bless you all

We had the pleasure of having Dr.Nett come to the Upstate of South Carolina on several occasions to speak with various physicians in our medical community. He was always very well received because of his knowledge obviously, but also due to his uncanny ability to get along with everyone he came into contact with. He will surely be missed. He was such a great man and just fun to be around. I loved his stories and talking Harley's. He spoke of his family often and loved his family very much. I will keep all of you in my prayers. I am priveleged, honored, and blessed to have known Dr. Robert Nett.

Patti, Erica (& husband), Nick--I cannot imagine your pain and loss at this time, but I can say that what I feel like at this moment is as though I have lost a member of my family. The one thing I know about Bob was that he did not leave things unsaid, so I am sure you all knew on a daily basis how much he loved you all. I will always remember our last conversation at my visit, just one day before his tragic accident. How he looked me in the eye and gave me a hug. He wasn't just my physician, he was my friend and truly made me feel cared for. I always told him how much I looked forward to my appointments and that they were the best way to start my day! He really listened to me and I always knew he genuinely cared. Like everyone else has said, he gave me back my life, free from headaches. No one will ever be able to replace him either from a medical standpoint or as a friend in my life. Know that you all will be in my prayers continually. God bless and keep you all in His hand.

My sympathies to the Patti, Erica and Nick. As I have stated many times when I came Bob's office "He saved my life", He saved me from a life of disability allowing me to return to work when no one else would try. While becoming my Doctor he also became a good friend and medical colleague. Every visit reminded me of the type personalized care I aspire to give my patients. You are in our thoughts he will be greatly missed as a physician and friend by anyone who was lucky enough to have shared in his wonderful life.

Dear Patti, Erica & Nick, know that our prayers are with you during this time of loss. Bob was far more than a physician, he was truly a friend. Yet, his expertise as a physician was one of the reasons we have commuted to S.A. Though the years God allowed us to develop a friendship beyond medicine as we have been able to share in several of your joys (Erika's marriage and Nick's graduation) and we have been able to live vicariously through your travels. May God continue to give you the strength and the peace that passes all understanding. And please let us know if there is anything we can do- beyond prayer. Ron & Flo Langley

Dr Nett, not only was an outstanding doctor but also a friend to his patients. He would give us his cell#. Doctors don't do that! The difference was, HE CARED.His migraine research & work was vital, but his true love was his family. His office walls adorned pictures of him with his lovely family. He was a great man who will never be forgotten. He will be greatly missed. Cheri B.
