Columbus, GA- Mrs. Ruth L. Bradford of Columbus died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House. She was 92 years old and resided at 2211 7th Street.
A native of Glennville, AL, Mrs. Bradford was the daughter of the late Raymond H. Sr and Poppie Rivers Ivey. Residing in Columbus most of her life, she was a home-maker and devout member of Fourth Street Baptist Church and its Gospel Choir, Dept. of Christian Education, PICCM, Love In Action Ministry and Pastor's Aid Ministry. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, MSG(Retired) James Bradford, Sr; two sons, Carl and Love Bradford; and seven siblings, Raymond, Jr, Love, Samuel, Lou, Estelle, Minnie and Ethel.
Surviving are thirteen loving children, James E. Bradford, Jr(Lessie), Roy Bradford(Shirley), Lee Bradford, Maurice Bradford, Winston Bradford, Joey Bradford, Bertha B. Wilson Evans, Ann B. Holiday, Juanita B. Avery, Dorothy B. Thomas, Mildred B. White(Clifton, Sr), June B. Love(Dudley) and Eileen B. Ruff(Bernard); nineteen grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Thelma Ivey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Bradford will be laid to rest with her husband at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA on Friday after a 9:00 A.M. Homegoing Celebration at Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church. Officiating will be Pastor Johnnie H. Flakes III. Visitation 2-6:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral Home. The cortege will depart from the residence Friday at 8:30 A.M. Arrangements entrusted to Progressive Funeral Home, Inc., "A Touch Of Dignity For Those Who Care."

Mama, there were many things never said or done, however, many hearts are free God blessed us with an additional 29 days to love you. Mama that is how much God loved you to grant those day, I imagine the lord is turning the pages letting you see the things we failed to say. As God turn the pages for you to see, I can hear, you say MASTER when my other children called reference their siblings I would tell them, WELL they all must be doing fine they have not called they are in the hands of the lord when asked how I was doing, I told them MAMA IS FINE I DON'T HURT NO WHERE. Your faith in God was limitless you never stopped getting on your knees to pray and giving God his grace.
