Columbus, Georgia - Mrs. Willie Pearl Farley passed away Sunday at St. Francis Hospital at the blessed age of 89. A native of Harris County, GA and the daughter of the late Charlie and Mahalie Williams Harper, Mrs. Farley received her bachelor's degree from Albany State University and her master's degree from the University of Georgia. For some forty-four years, she was in the employment of the Muscogee County School District, retiring as an Educator and Media Specialist at J.D. Davis Elementary School. She was a faithful member of Franchise Missionary Baptist Church and a devoted member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority (Epsilon Zeta Chapter). She was a member of Albany State University Alumni. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, James Farley, Sr.
Survivors include a son, James Farley, Jr; three devoted brothers, James L. Harper, John Harper, Sr and Charles Harper; three goddaughters, Malinda Stovall, J'haria Woods and Jemesia Hicks; a loving nephew, Lerone Harper, a devoted cousin, Helen Thornton; long time neighbor, friend, sister, and confidant Mrs. Ola Mae Washington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Farley will be laid to rest with her husband at Green Acres Cemetery on Saturday, April 22, 2023 following an Eleven O'clock AM Homegoing Celebration in the sanctuary of Franchise Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Raymond Cochran, Sr. Visitation is 2:00 til 5:00 PM Friday at the funeral home, followed by a Zeta Burial Service at 5:00 PM.
