Columbus, Georgia - Mr. Willie Joe Williams, 73, of Columbus passed on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Columbus. A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Evergreen Memorial Park, 4500 St. Mary's Road, Columbus with Military Honors. Bro. Walter Harrison will be officiating according to the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home, Inc. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the funeral home located at 927-5th Avenue, Columbus.
Mr. Willie Joe Williams was born on February 18, 1949 to the late Robert C. Williams and Margaret Graddick Williams in Hamilton, GA. Mr. Williams proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp and later worked as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher serving children in Early Childhood and Junior High School Education. He retired as a charter and tour bus owner/operator. Mr. Williams was ordained by the United Christian Church and Ministerial Association and has served as a Chaplain and chapter member of the Marine Corps League, Chaplain and Commander of the Disabled American Veterans, chapter member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masons, President of the Lions Club, and Treasurer of his Masonic Order.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Robert Williams, Jr.; He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, JeJuana D. Johnson Jones(Demario), Pensacola, FL and Carmen Williams Carter, Columbus, GA; one son, Rashaard Williams (Taushonda), Fortson, GA; three sisters, Rita D. Fullilove, Columbus, GA, Marilyn Chisolm, Charlotte, NC, Emma Jean Thomas, Fayetteville, NC; two brothers, Ronnie C. Williams, Columbus, GA and Kelvin Williams,(Barbara), Whitesville, GA; three grandchildren, Sydnee Ryan Johnson, Atlanta, GA, Jacob and John Williams Carter, Columbus, GA.

I remember all the bus trips Mr. Williams took my family on when my sister, Ceretha Copeland Fluellen, was living. He was a very kind man. Sending prayers and condolences for his family and friends.
