Anna Marie Vautour

Greenville, NH - Anna Marie Vautour of Greenville, NH, at the age of 101, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on September 22, 2025. She was born on November 13, 1923 in Barachois, New Brunswick, Canada. She was the daughter of Phillipe LeBlanc and Marguerite Legere LeBlanc.

She spent her early years living in Port Eligin, NB and married Emile Vautour on February 15, 1944. They had ten children - Muriel (Dennis) Pelletier, Theresa (Frances) Lorette, Dolorice (deceased), Bernadette (Rodney) Desmarais, Mary May (deceased), Lorette (Brian) Shelley, Norbert (Joye) Vautour, Clement (Lisa) Vautour, Phyllis Anne (deceased), and Helen (Dana) Mason.

In 1966, Anna and the rest of her family immigrated to the United States and joined Emile, Muriel, and Theresa in Greenville, NH, who had moved there in 1962. Anna worked in linen services at Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg, MA. She retired in 1986.

Anna enjoyed baking with her grandchildren throughout the year, but especially at Christmas time, making and decorating cookies. She taught her daughters and granddaughters to sew, quilt, and knit, creating their own clothes and blankets. She was a faithful attendant at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenville.

In August of 2023, Anna was awarded the Boston Post Cane as the oldest resident of Greenville, NH. She was the Matriarch of the Vautour family, leaving behind 4 generations of family. She was extremely well known and respected in Greenville, living many years on Main Street.

Anna is predeceased by her parents, her husband Emile, four sisters, and one brother. She is also predeceased by her daughters Dolorice, Mary May, and Phyllis Anne, along with her two sons-in-law Rodney Desmarais and Dana Mason.

Anna is survived by her two sisters in Canada - Clara LeBlanc and Jeannine Boudreau. She also leaves behind 7 of her children, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenville. A private burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Ipswich.
