Anne Buchanan Obituary
Anne Marie was born on May 3, 1924 in Baltimore, MO. She was a registered nurse and worked with special needs children for LAUSD. After retirement she became a peer counselor at the Santa Clarita Senior Center in supportive services. Anne loved the seniors she served; often returning after work to drop off groceries, pick up mail or just to visit. If needed, she would take clients to their medical appointments. She treated each person with respect and dignity and provided the highest level of service, working there until the age of 77. She proudly served as a member of Zonta and enjoyed her work in the literacy program. As a member of Saint Stephens Episcopal Church, she brought communion to shut-ins. Anne lived her life by always thinking of other people and doing what she could to make their lives better. She never wavered from her dedication and commitment to the community and her family.
Anne is survived by her daughters, Linda Comerford of Santa Clarita, Susan Henderson of Sunland, Jane Wicktrom of Santa Clarita, Trisha Loughran of Maui, HI and Maggie Howard of Santa Clarita; and her sons, Michael and Joe Buchanan, both of Santa Clarita. Anne's husband, William J. Buchanan, her granddaughter, JoAnne Grant and her grandsons, Michael Mahan and Kenny Wickstrom precede her in death.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Anne's name.
Anne's family wrote, "Anne Buchanan was a rare and wonderful woman. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her."

I remember this sweet lady she was always so kind to the older ladies and gentelmen that came for lunch in the senior center. Gods blessings to her and her family.

Anne was truly a wonderful lady who made the world a better place. We are so fortunate to have known and loved her. She will be missed.
