In sending the seven photos earlier, the written memorial and descriptions of the photos got misplaced by this site, so I will recreate it here.

When a man lives a full life, the memories he shares and creates with others live on. My father, Charles Clark Richmond lived just 8 short days from being 99. In 2016 Dad shared these photos with me, describing them as part of his important memories.

Here are the captions that originally accompanied the images of some important moments from those many years:

The picture of Dad from 2016 in a gray tee shirt was taken with his "new computer camera" in his treasured private space in the cellar of his condo. Here he proudly wore his Howie Carr tee shirt called "Trump Tower", in his support of Trump for President. He kept it downstairs "to avoid trouble" with the rest of the household as he whispered, "I voted for Trump."

The next picture was from 1972 when he and Mom visited me at UNH in Durham, NH for my 22nd birthday. The one following is of Dad and me as a very spoiled two-year-old at Christmas in 1952; the piano, the big panda, the rocking horse were only part of the many extravagant gifts.

In 1960 Uncle Billie (William Seymour) came to visit us in Clayton, MO. Here is the photo of Mom, Uncle Billie, and Dad. Uncle Billie was my grandmother Lucretia Seymour´s brother.

Then there is the picture from Christmas in North Adams in 1948. Dad wrote "Clint, Widge, and Chas," to make sure everyone could see his brother Clint photo bombing their picture. Widge was his special nickname for Mom, they were together 34 years.

The three grouped photos were from Dad´s childhood: On the first one Gram wrote, "Charles and Nancy (Dad's sister) trying out a new chair Whit bought for the Terrace, 1931." The middle photo is of Dad with Gram, Nancy, and Clint, sometime around 1942; and for the third one Gram wrote "Pvt AFAS George W. Knowlton and Corporal Charles C Richmond USMC" which I believe is from around 1943-4. Dad always reminisced about sailing with his cousin George around Salters Point as being his happiest days.

The final photo is one of Lucretia Seymour (Gram) with her young son, Charles Clark Richmond and is circa 1926-27. It was one of Dad's favorites; he made a copy from his 'new computer scanner' though I sure wish I had the original!

We can learn so much about a man's life from the memories he shares with others. Godspeed Dad, fair winds and following seas while making your crossing. And thanks for your service, Marine. Semper Fi.

A short history of a man through pictures; my dad left many memories these are a few of mine from photos he shared with me in 2016 as some of the ones that were important to him.

Charles and his mom, Lucretia Seymour, my Gram,1926; young Charles and his little sister Nancy, Gram wrote: "testing a new chair that Whit purchased for the Terrace ," 1931, North Adams; 1942 Charles, Gram, my Aunt Nancy with Dad's brother my Uncle Clint; cousins "Pvt George Knowlton AFAS and Corporal Charles Richmond, USMC": how those two enjoyed sailing around Salters Point; "Clint, Widge and Chas 1948 Christmas," Dad wrote about a picture Uncle Clint photo bombed; 1960 Clayton MO, my mom Dorothy Richmond and dad with Gram's brother, Uncle Billie; 1952 second Christmas for me, with Dad (spoiled two year old: piano, 3' tall panda, rocking horse and more); and finally 1972 Newmarket, NH on my 22nd birthday Mom and Dad drove down from Warner, NH to celebrate, as I was attending UNH Durham. Dad sent me this final picture of himself, he was wearing a Trump Tower, Howie Carr tee shirt: he said he wore it "in secret, in his basement to avoid problems." Family is family, it is a forever thing.

Memories that survive generations. Godspeed, fair winds and following seas. Thank you for your service Marine, Semper Fi.
