David Yetman Obituary

David Alan Yetman, 80

Rindge, NH - David Alan (Girard) Yetman Sr. passed away at his home in Rindge with his beloved wife by his side on Monday September 1, 2025.

He was born on November 28th, 1944, in Athol, MA to Therese Edith Girard. He was adopted as a young boy by Walter & Nina Yetman of Everett, MA. He was raised in Johnston, RI and Wakefield, MA.

He attended Wakefield High School and had taken numerous college courses in business and computer technology. He worked many years selling research microscopes to colleges, universities, and medical centers; he also worked more than a decade training physically and mentally challenged adults in sheltered workshops and on the job training sites. The career he enjoyed the most was working for Richard (Rich) Alden of Alden Sales, Inc. of Rindge, NH. Dave sold advertising for major magazines in the educational, public safety, and printing industries.

David enjoyed photography and the arts. He was an award-winning and published photographer. He was a freelance writer and contributing photographer for the Boston Herald, Lawerence Eagle Tribune, Exeter Newsletter, and the Ohio Antiques Review. While in high school, he wrote a weekly column in the Wakefield Daily Item. He has photographs and oil paintings in private collections across North America.

David was involved in a variety of projects. The founder of the S-9 Emergency Team, he expanded the Teams efforts into Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and New York. While working in the rehabilitation field, he was the founder of the Central New England Workshop Cooperative; receiving a recognition plaque from six rehabilitation facilities in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

In 2007, he founded the Northern New England HHR Club Chapter, a sanctioned chapter of the National HHR organization. He expanded the group into New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts. The club attended area car shows and cruises throughout New England.

David had a love of nature and animals. He always had a dog at his side. He could sit for hours watching a sunrise waiting for just the right light for that special photograph.

The family includes his soulmate of 49 years, Patricia A. (Gray) Yetman of Rindge, NH. Sons David Yetman Jr. of Burlington, NC, Stephen and his wife Sandra Greeley of Piney Point, MD, and his daughter Kelley (Greeley) and her husband James Carey of Plymouth, NH. His grandchildren Joshua & Katie and Allison & Danny. He is also survived by his brother Leonel (Mick) Girard of Gardner, MA, and numerous half sisters and brothers, aunts & nieces.

He was predeceased by his birth mother Therese Girard, sister Leonet, his parents Walter and Nina Yetman, and a daughter Dr. Lisa A. Yetman.

David will become a permanent resident of Temple, New Hampshire, in the afterlife.
