Emil Adams Obituary

RINDGE - Emil R. (Richie) Adams Jr., 62 of 45 Cross St., Rindge, died Feb. 3, 2014, at his home after a long battle with cancer. He lived the last months of his life continuing the pursuit of his love for the outdoors with his cherished wife by his side.

Emil was born in Fitchburg on Jan. 4th, 1952, the son of the late Emil R. Adams Sr. and Katherine "Kip" (Bresnahan) Adams. He was a 1970 graduate of Fitchburg High School, received an Associate in Science at Mt. Wachusett Community College in 1972. During the 70's he worked at Kanko Inc. as a Sales Manager. In 1980 Emil received a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Bentley College. He also pursued an Associates in Science in Dental Laboratory Technology from Middlesex Community College in 1991 and was Certified by The National Board Certification in Dental Lab Technology in 1993 as a Certified Dental Tech. Along with his wife, Jean (Caron) Adams of Fitchburg, who were long time neighbors growing up and inseparable later in life, owned and operated a successful dental lab business "Adams Dental Ceramics" out of their home.

Emil was an avid bird hunter and fisherman, who tied his own flies. Emil and Jean were able to experience their dream vacationing in the Alaska wilderness fishing for salmon along the bear inhabited rivers. Beside their wilderness vacations, Emil and Jean along with their Springer spaniels would spend hours in the outdoors enjoying their activities. He also sought other enjoyment such as braiding fine leather lanyards related to hunting & fishing, oil painting and cycling. Emil was also an accomplished musician who was the lead guitarist in a local Fitchburg band called "The Tories."

Along with his wife Jean, he leaves a sister, Karen Sorenson, of Fitchburg Mass., three nieces, Kristine Smith of Lunenburg Mass., Stephanie Folker of New Braunfels, Texas and Wendy Stoutenburgh of South Carolina along with six great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Kathleen Hallsworth of Conway, S.C., Uncles John & Joseph Bresnahan, Grandparents Hilda & Joseph Bresnahan and Alex & Mary Adams.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. James O'Shea at Commonwealth Hematology-Oncology, Worcester, Mass., and the nurses and aids from Hospice at HCS.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to Home Health Care Hospice & Community Services located at 312 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. 03431, in memory of Emil R. Adams Jr. A Private Service will be held at a later date.

Jean, I am so sorry for your loss and I speak for the rest of the office as well. I didn't know Emil well but you both made me feel as if I knew you guys forever. When I think of our brief but always fun conversations on the phone, it brings a smile. I hope the happy memories he leaves behind brings a sense of peace to you and his family. Dear Jean;

It was so obvious when we'd see the two of you together the love that existed.

He will be remembered in so may ways. A great musician, a terrific husband and most of all, the love of your life.
